I'm a newer Dr Who fan and for me Matt Smith is the only Doctor. He was my first, I tried to go back and watch the Tennant and Eccleston stuff but (to me) they don't compare to Matt Smith. And I have no real desire to look furthur back, Series 5 and forward is good enough for me. As always great episode. love the crossover event!
Great podcast guys! Nice to see that Doctor Who is getting a loyal following outside of the UK. Also good to hear a bunch of balanced opinions on the various Doctors. I think for me, Tennant was the best "all rounder", but I think the overall quality of the show has gone up since Steven Moffat took the reins. Not to downplay Matt Smith's contribution though cause I think he's great.
I'm kind of on the same page as the rest of you with regards Eccleston not having done a long enough run. Plus I think you can see moments in the Tennant run where Eccleston would have been better placed and vice versa. In particular the "Don't blink" speech. It was scary with Tennant delivering it, but it would've been downright terrifying with Eccleston.
All in all though I'm loving where they're taking the show. It's getting progressively darker and more bonkers which more than suits my taste. Again, great podcast, looking forward to checking out more.
