Thom Holbrook of Poobala.com returns to join Pax, CT, and Jeeg for a discussion of TV shows based on movies. After a brief trip around the horn to mention some of our favorites and what made them work, we all pitch concepts using movies that have never been translated to TV. We come up with some good ideas, but also end up featuring more secret agents, high school teachers, and little people than any sane person should expect. In our Nerd To-Dos, we talk about The Strain, The Avengers Facebook game, Avatar The Last Airbender, and poutine (again).
Ah, the 80's/90's was all about Movies to TV shows – Uncle Buck, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Dirty Dancing, HArry and the Hendersons, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (both in live action and animated), Police Academy (once again, both live action and animated)…..plus lots more. Also, there was a pilot made years ago for a TV adaptation of Fargo. I've got it on a disk somewhere. Can't say I've ever sat down and watched it. Also, Pilots were made for TV versions of Revenge of the Nerds, Adventures in Babysitting, and Coming to America.
