This week on the show, we have two returning guests, Sue London and Doug Frye and we return to a topic we delved into before back on episode 56 where we turned movies into television shows. Each Nerd chose a movie and gave it a TV show spin along with a new cast and ideas for future story lines. Wrestling! Aliens! Shadow creatures! Wacky adventures! They’re all a part of this exciting episode of Nerd Lunch.
This episode features talk about Groundhog Day so we have retroactively dedicated it to Harold Ramis. Also, please note that some of the audio in this is not quite up to our desired quality. Apologies in advance for that. See Pax for a refund if you’re unhappy.
Fantastic job on ep 120! The treatments by Sue and CT were absolutely amazing and I would totally tune in for either show. Sue's take on "Galaxy Quest" (in my top 3 movies of all time) and the covert "Tokyo Rose" scenario sold me right then and there. USA network would be great as maybe FX and I think it is worth a pitch!
CT and Groundhog Day was equally great. I would only make a suggestion… Make it an anthology series. Have a different person/couple come into the town and they have to fix something in order to leave. The guide person could be someone like an old fashion street sweeper and played by Bill Murray himself, only brief appearances in the episodes once or twice. Otherwise the heading out and around the region and blackout and re-appearing in the town is gold!
Don't pass over what you have here. Kevin Smith is making 2 movies based on podcast episodes he did. I would love to be involved just for the creative aspect of it! Again… fantastic job 🙂
Thanks for having me again, guys. Too much fun!
