Hey, guys, just enjoyed another great episode. I had no idea there were so many of these out there. Of course, I'm a lot older than the rest of you, and as an adventurous young lad growing up in the 50s and 60s, John Wayne was the brightest star in my galaxy. Of course he made several great movies with such superstars as Lee Marvin, Dean Martin, Robert Mitchum, and the like, but the Duke seemed to have a posse of B-list actors who he always found work for. Bruce Cabot, Jay C. Flippen, Red Buttons, Paul Fix, Mike Mazurki, Valentin deVargas, and I'm sure that list isn't exhaustive. If somehow everything Hollywood had ever produced was lost except the John Wayne catalog, you'd think those people were superstars, because between them, they turn up singly or in combination in everything from the 40s to the 70s. He seems to have been a good man, taking care of friends who didn't reach the success that he did, and the great thing is, they seem to work in the vehicles he placed them into. Great memories, guys, thanks for this one!
